Everbody believes that the earth is round like a ball or sphere. Is it so? Well, almost everybody knows it but for flat earthers. Flat earthers are people who think that the earth is flat. And, the number of such believers is increasing if one goes by the number of communities they have.
Their reason is that in the Bible there is no where it is written that the earth is round like a ball. They even quote it, “It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers.” (Isaiah 40:22 King James Version)
They have many more instances to quote from the Bible, like, “And after these things I saw four angels standing on four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. (Revelation 7:1)
The proponents of flat earth say it might be round but it is more like a disc. This would imply that one would fall off into the space if one reaches its edges. Quite unlikely, tragic and hilarious.
According to news reports, an advocate of this view is Daniel Shenton who in 2004 resurrected the Flat Earth Society, basing it around a web-based discussion forum. This eventually led to the official relaunch of the society in October 2009.
Shenton told a newspaper, “There is no unified flat earth model but the most commonly accepted one is that it’s more or less a disc, with a ring of something to hold in the water. The height and substance of that, no one is absolutely sure, but most people think it’s mountains with snow and ice.”
According to flat earthers the satellite images showing the round, ball-like earth are a big hoax. One community says, “no where in god’s word does it describe the earth as round spinning ball or gravity or any other lie spoken by satanic NASA.”
